Sacha Baron Cohen to play Freddie Mercury

Ali G and Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen is to play Freddie Mercury in a film about Queen, the rock band's guitarist Brian May has confirmed.
"We have Sacha Baron Cohen, which will probably be a shock to a lot of people, but he's been talking with us for a long time," May told the HARDtalk show.
Frost/Nixon scribe Peter Morgan is writing the screenplay, he added.
The film, which will focus on the period leading up to Live Aid in 1985, will begin shooting next year.
"I think we'll try and keep ourselves out of it as much as we can," May said.
Baron Cohen had been "on this project since we started talking about it seriously with Peter Morgan a couple of years ago," he added.
May and Queen drummer Roger Taylor will oversee music featured in the film, which will include songs by the band and by Mercury as a solo performer.

SPIKY The Machinist

LADY EMZ CAUGHT UP WITH FRENCH SUPER MUSICIAN/PRODUCER, SPIKY THE MACHINEST, FOR SOME WORDS ON HIS CREATIONS. (ENG/FR)

Why SPIKY? Is it 'cause you want to poke people and make them react, or is it a defensive reaction (as porcupines do)?

1/ My name isn’t SPIKY, its SPIKY The Machinist to be exact.

2. Well, You certainly present a very personal unique style, and your popularity is rapidly increasing... Tell us, how did you begin this music adventure (including the start of your own label Black Castle), and how far do you wish to go with it?

2/ I was the product of a family of musicians, I grew up surrounded by lots of instruments. At a certain point in my artistic evolution, I had a chance to collaborate with a number of different artists, which is what made me want to create my own label. Today, 6 years after its creation, the label is evolving day by day, it has become a French reference for independent labels and that’s only the beginning.

3. There's a big cinematic influence in your music videos (By the way, the video for PHASE 1 is simply amazing!). Are you personally involved in the art direction and making of them? Any film directors that inspire you particularly?

3/It’s true that I am passionate about cinema. In PHASE 1, I wanted to pay homage to directors that I admire such as: TIM BURTON and CHRIS CUNNINGHAM. I am directly involved in all my music and video projects and I surround myself with artists that I value for certain projects: like Nicolas CAPUS and Mat CERATO who helped me create my character.

4. What equipment (or else) do you tend to use to compose and write?

4/ I use my machines….(Laughs)

4/J'utilise mes machines ... (rire)

5. What are your biggest influences and inspirations? (artists names, and any other things that may come your way...)

5/ I listen to all styles of music from Prince to Aphex Twin as well as 16BIT and AMON TOBIN.

6. Your album, PHASE 1, seems like a journey into other planets, of eclectic music genres and dream-like emotions... What are your main messages? are you telling us a story?

6/ For my first album, I had to pay homage to my initial style, which was electronic music, today I open my doors to other universes such as DUB STEP.

7. You've played live and collaborated with a long list of well-known artists; for you, who was the best to share the stage with? and, who else would you wish to play with?

7/ Always a presence in my album and onstage live with me, Big red was for me the most important person I met, someone I have always listened to. Today I am very proud to have him accompany me. My second music video “electronic control” featuring big red comes out this year.

8. Tell us, si vous plais, your best dream and your worst nightmare...

8/ I don’t believe in dreams, I only have goals and my worst nightmare would be if my electricity was cut!!!

Merci beacoup!! :)
